++The Fog machine has already started. John Boehner says the Iranian deal will spark a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Lindsey Graham says the deal is a declaration of war against Israel. Senator Cotton of the Dear Ayatollah letter says Congress will kill the deal. Expect lots of this.
++Just prior to the deal, Mike Huckabee said that John Kerry should quit the talks,drop the crutches and leap on a plane to Israel and hug Bibi.
++Bibi immediately called a meeting of his National Security Cabinet. Isaac Herzog is coming to the United States. Israeli voices are saying that Bibi is fighting a losing battle on this agreement and that Israel should modify its strategy and go after something reasonable. President Obama is supposed to call Bibi tonight to reassure Bibi.
++President Obama asked Iran to stop calling for the annihilation of Israel. Rouhani did crow a bit by saying Iran had defeated the Zionist war-making machine.
++I detected a little wobble in the Israeli papers because they recognized Bibi utter failure at influencing the agreement or stopping it. He always boasted how Americans are like children and he could make them do anything. It is dawning on Israel that Bibi's strategy of undercutting the President of the United States failed utterly. While it is premature to say,Bibi, who only has a one seat margin in the Knesset,may go down. His budget woes looked like they were enough but this failure is massive.
++The Israeli newspaper reported that Hillary Clinton told House Democrats that this agreement was worth supporting. This raises a dilemma for Israel because a full-on alliance with the Republicans and evangelicals risks alienating Democrats and the American jewish community. Also I would submit it diminishes Israel to the coalition which backed apartheid South Africa, which is not a place Israel wants to be.
