++Josh Marshall surveyed his friends and read the analyses of the debate. He still thinks Trump took it--because Fox clearly tried to damage him and couldn't. Marshall knows that Trump didn't make any policy statements or anything of substance but he says we need to hear the music before we read the libretto.
++I find myself in agreement with Marshall and Ed Kilgore that the praise of Marco Rubio seems mystifying. Marshall says he seem to fade into the woodwork. I agree. I don't think he did himself any good with his answer on abortion.
++Kilgore noticed that no one was asked about "shutting the government down because of planned parenthood" or anything the GOP Congress will face this fall.
++Voting Act. Kilgore writes about Hillary Clinton's appearance on the Al Sharpton show and how she anticipated the GOP candidates would respond to questions about the 50th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. She noted the top tier candidates were vote suppressors. Gee, the question never came up.
