The Senate Parliamentarian Rules

++The Senate is now allowed because of the Byrd Rule to attach riders on spending bills that will eliminate Obamacare and funding for Planned Parenthood. Senate Teapartiers like Mike Lee, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio feel the House pending bill did not go far enough to eliminate Obamacare. What it did was eliminate the mandate for corporations with more than 40 employees to offer healthcare. The Obama Administrationhas backed away from this provision so that eliminating the rest of the ACA is the end point.

++The purpose is to eliminate any traces of Obama Presidency to install the next Republican president. That should be obvious. But under the ACA, the United States has the lowest uninsured rate ever. Eliminating the ACA would not only trigger the loss of 17 million newly insured but also re-establish the "pre-existing conditions" clauses of insurance, which would be more critical as people with Obamacare have found out about conditions they never knew about before. So now they will not be able to get insurance, except at an exorbitant rate.

++As I noted during the whole debate over the ACA that given the premium hikes during the George W. Bush administration I was stuck with paying $25,000 a year for family coverage. That's like a low-end new car ever year!
With Obamacare,I have been able to cover my son who works in the gig economy as many of his fellow musicians, who claim for the first time they have had health insurance.

++You have to think about Republicans who would willy-nilly throw the the health insurance industry into a panic just for political spite.
