+President Obama channeling Dudley Doo-Right before his last State of the Union address in his weekly message to the Nation rattled off all the positive things his administration has accomplished. His first take was that this year the Auto industry had their best year ever. Remember the Republicans wanted the car industry to go bankrupt. The United States has had the longest uninterrupted streak of job growth in its history. Our uninsured rate for health insurance is now below 9% for the first time in history.
+So we should expect President Obama to toot his own horn in his State of the Union address. No one else will. But his optimism is not met on the campaign trail by the candidates. The Donald says the US are a bunch of losers,Bernie Sanders complains that our economy is awful.
+So is President Obama right or the white guys? The Average family income is close to its 2008 level. Unemployment is the black community is down to 8% from 16% only two years ago. Pollsters find that people of color, including Hispanics, are much more optimistic than whites. And yes for the past generation the American people have said we are going in the wrong direction. Think about that great misery index--it is 5, about the same as the Eisenhower Administration.
+Even the Koch Brothers are bummed out that their $900 million expenditures in the 2016 are not panning out and Charles Koch complained to the Financial Times that no one is listening to him and that he is being blasted by all the websites and candidates.
+Maybe it's that white people are depressed. Michael Tomasky wrote a piece in the Daily Beast about how the Donald is dominating the new cycles. He says an outrageous thing and it is repeated for three days and the fourth someone debunks it. No, Mexicans are actually going home not coming to the United States. But this allows the US as loser theme to penetrate the airwaves.
+The NRA rationalized refusing to meet with President Obama saying they had nothing to talk about except basketball.
+I've always felt sorry for President Obama when he tried to explain what's going well. No one believes him.
