+Paul Simon drives people crazy in the studio because of his perfection. But we have been the benefit of it.
+This an album about rhythms. A special shoutout to my son's percussionist supervisor for his Oberlin recital--Jamey Haddad, whose the lead percussionist for Simon's band.
+Simon discovered composer Harry Partch, the 20th century composer who found 43 tones in an octave--a contrast to the 12 tones of the European musical scale.
+Partch had to invent instruments to play these microtones. The names --Cloud Chamber Bowls,Sonic Canons, Marimba Eroica,Kithara and Chromelodeon--the eerily beautiful ,landscape of sound.
+Beautiful creation. Paul Simon triumphs again.
+Meanwhile in my basement at night I hear the tapes of Moogfest in Durham ,North Carolina being mixed. At least the New York Times reviewed Moogfest and even showcased the trio my son played with who "created an ethereal canopy of sound".
