The Real Deal

++Josh Marshall has a short post at TPM on the real argument against the Iran deal. Basically, it would alter the United States' relationship with the Saudis which grew even tighter after the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Depending on your point of view, this is a good thing or a bad thing. As Nancy LeTorneau pointed out at the Washington Monthly this past weekend that the opening to Iran triggers a new dynamic within the region that has seen such things as the Russia-Saudi-Iran moves on Syria.

++Josh also has a piece called "Bibi's Cannon Fodder" about how Bibi is playing the American Jewish community by invoking the Holocaust when in fact the Israeli defense forces are quite content with their nuclear superiority and believe they can maintain their deterrent effect. Marshall's piece mirrors a critical piece in YNET about Bibi leading Israel into the abyss. What happens the day after the deal is rejected by the US Congress? The writer points out that Bibi has a one seat edge in the Knesset, no military leader and that the Israeli government now is only responding to one man--Bibi. YNET says that Bibi's antics have cost Israel America's support and that President obama is not apt to forget his interference in the internal affairs of the United States.
