++I totally missed Trump's performance at the Al Smith dinner attacking Hillary Clinton and saying she hated Catholics. Apparently in a room with priests he received boos and twitter feeds from the attendees went nuts about how tacky he was and sleazy.
++This is a sort of goofy traditions where both candidates good naturally make fun of themselves and only manage some digs at their opponent but the remarks have to be funny.
++Donald failed on all counts.And went into how crooked Hillary was. She was so crooked that she got kicked off the Watergate committee. The political pundit tweeterdom went nuts about how bad Trump was and crass.
++He opened by praising how generous he was but then people treated him like a scoundrel when he ran as a Republican.

++So my good daughter remark is true in that Hillary had to pull the evening back to its original function and add some civility.
