The AP resorts that Paul Manafort received millions of dollars from a Russian billionaire to develop in 2005 a strategy to assist Vladimir Putin to counter the charges of his repression and corruption. The strategic paper also dealt with the increasing repression in the former Soviet Republics, particularly Central Asia.Coupled with the money laundering charges,Manafort has become a ripe target.
He has hired a so-called "crisis communications" firm to defend him against these stories.
Today Adam Schiff said he had to be called before the House intel committee.
