++Nancy LeTourneau ,filling in for Ed Kilgore, at Washington Monthly, has an article of appreciation called "President Obama on Finding Openings."
++After his speech at American University on the Iran Nuclear Deal,President Obama was asked about whether Iran would change its views toward the West. He responded by saying Nixon's trip to China ushered in a change that led to their state capitalist system which no one could have anticipated. He suggested that the United States should have the self-confidence of taking calculated risks to find those openings that could transform societies.
++LeTourneau talks about Obama's remark about getting his paragraph of history right. He acknowledges we inherited the grudges, resentments and rivalries from the past and we have to deal with them but we have to remember the beautiful things of the past.
++LeTourneau writes well to connect the opening to Burma,Cuba and the Iran talks as part of this effort to take calculated risks to find openings.
