JOSH MARSHALL ON TRUMP'S MOVE TO GUT INTEL CAPACITY.

Josh Marshall at Talkingpointsmemo says Trump's move to gut the National Intelligence Board and the CIA is pure vengeance for his fight over the Russian hack, which he believes "delegitimizes "his election. He is helped by this with General Flynn whose career was terminated by the CIA after several bureaucratic fights.

Marshall reminds us that Trump's whine about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq was not about the intelligence estimates who thought on a scale of 10 maybe Iraq was on a scale of two and they were pressured but only came up to 3 or 4 when the Bush Administration put it at 9.

He also remembered the Team B experiment when neoconservatives thought the CIA underestimated the Soviets and that Team B laughingly vastly overestimated the Soviets when the Soviet Union dissolved it was fairly obvious. James Woolsey, a Trump adviser was on Team B.

Marshall says this is Trump's MO about dominance. He has to punish people who makes him look like a liar.

The Washington Post reports that Trump's refusal to believe the Russians hacked our elections has split the Republican party. Lindsey Graham and John McCain now are relegated to holding hearings on what the Obama administration knew and did, while Mitch McConnell opposed their moves to have a bipartisan commission. The intelligence community lobbied for a non-partisan group to analyze Russia's hacking.
