TRUMP CALLS INVESTIGATION INTO RUSSIAN HACKING A "POLITICAL WITCHHUNT"

In this town, the Russian story has taken hold and several columns in the Washington Post say Trump is already damaged by his "suspicious" support of Vladimir Putin.

James Clapper yesterday said that Russia engaged in a multi-front strategy of affecting our election through hacking, propaganda, "fake news" to raise issues on the legitimacy of our democratic system.

Later in the day, the Post reported that intelligence had picked up Russian officials celebrating Trump's victory claiming it was Russia's greatest geopolitical victory. The intelligence community also identified the Russians who gave Wikileaks the hacks and said they had been congratulated by the Kremlin.

Trump tried to walk away from his embrace of Julian Assange. It turns out Assange was cagey in saying he did not receive the emails from the Russian officials or a state agency. No, they were cut outs.

Jennifer Rubin today wrote that maybe General Flynn was the problem because of his identification with Russia.
