The billionaire Ukrainian is a business partner of both Vladimir Putin and Paul Manafort. Rachel Maddow said that whether the DOJ would press again on his extradition from Austria would be a test of the DOJ under Jeff Sessions. Today he was infect re-arrested and being deported to the United States on corruption charges. He and Paul Manafort tried to buy a Manhattan Hotel for a money laundering scheme from both Russia and the Ukraine.
Bloomberg News thinks this case will show how Trump leans on Putin. It also further complicates things for Manafor who surfaced once again with the fake peace deal with the Ukraine which would have lifted sanctions.
Maxine Waters says that everyone who wanted sanctions lifted are now in the Trump Administration.
David Ignatius of the Washington Post reports that the Moscow market has crashed since the December news that the sanctions might be lifted. Apparently Trump saying it would be difficult has hurt Moscow bank stocks.
General Flynn is now in hotter water with the New York Daily News reporting he received $40,000 for talking on RT. He is now liable on the emoluments clause.
Charles Schumer now says that Sessions has to revise himself on the Russian case according to DOJ rules. But others disagree and say he was head of the foreign security section of the Trump campaign and won't miss the opportunity to kill the various investigations. I have heard he has to revise himself also but we will see.
