JONATHAN CHAIT AT POLITICAL WIRE SAYS THE RESISTANCE HAS THE UPPER HAND.

Political mobilization has rattled the GOP majorities. The media has not tempered their coverage . In fact subscriptions are increasing. Trump has had his temper tantrums and has not yet put in the authoritative measures he would need to crush the rebellion.

It is strange to me to see GOP congress critters overwhelmed by their constituents, while they cry they are being bullied and intimidated. Scores of GOP congress members fled the scene of their town hall meetings. Others didn't show up. It is important to re-assert: WE are The Majority. 

But some of this is a case I told you so. The Iowa town meetings saw farmers moan about Trump getting rid of the TPP, which gave them benefits trading ag products abroad. They also protested that all their farmhands would be deported. What did they think?

At Senator Grassley's meeting, a woman screamed he would be creating a huge death panel if Obamacare was repealed. But today, Paul Ryan proclaimed that day would mark Freedom!.  It will be interesting to see whether this crowd is chastened when they return in session.

Meanwhile call your Senators and demand hearings on Steve Bannon . He is currently serving on the NSA in violation of the law. Only the Senate can approve him sitting there. Nice little project.

My little nest of activists have continued to be demonstrating,protesting, raising money. This is the longest sustained effort by anyone I know. HURRAH!
