OBAMA FINE MONTH

+When Chuck Todd will admit anything about President Obama, the "aloof", disdainful. bored" President it is news. He admits he is rocking it these days.

+It's nice the press finally admits it.

+Kevin Drum thinks we should add net neutrality and his Russian policy to his accomplishments. Drum, writing in Mother Jones, says that what President Obama has done is "fuck with the Republicans' heads". Remember the "Adult Americans" who would come to the new Congress and "govern". Drum believes the initiatives President Obama have taken make it totally necessary for the GOP leadership to allow their tea party wing to rant and rave in the first months of the new Congress.

+ He believes that the chaos that will ensue will last at least two months. I predict it has to end with the funding bill for Homeland Security where the right want to stop President Obama's immigration initiatives.

+Greg Sargent believes President Obama's new activism is helps frame the 2016 Republican primaries and put the GOP in the past on the issues.

+President Obama had some fun today when he said "He loves the Bush family." This will play well for Jeb, who stepped in it a day before Obama's breakthrough with Cuba, argued you don't negotiate with authoritarian regimes. Now the right-wingers can  say that Obama loves Jeb.

+Some o-ed writers believe we will see an Autumn Summer of President Obama's approval rating. It has inched up two points over the past two weeks.

Immigration Executive Actions

+President Obama in Dallas set up his executive actions on immigration by unveiling his package for added security and humanitarian assistance to the recent flood of kids at the border.

+Why I say this is that it is clear that Republicans in Congress believe that filibustering the request will benefit them for the by-election. However, Jennifer Rubin in yesterday's Washington Post pointed out that polling by the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable indicate that Republicans overwhelmingly support immigration reform, enhanced border security and a path to citizenship.

+By the way, the cost of deporting all undocumented immigrants would cost in the neighborhood of $280 billion. Besides can you imagine what the world would think.

+President Obama is the Deporter-In-Chief , deporting roughly 400,000 per year, or over 2 million. He has deported more people than all the Presidents combined back to the 19th century.

+But the political dance in Texas was a setup to executive actions that President Obama discussed with the immigration activists at the White House. According to Greg Sargent in the Imperial Post ,Obama is about to lay a bomb before the mid-terms.Major Garrett in the National Journal described the meeting which La Raza was not invited to because of their criticism of President Obama. The tone was mixed. President Obama spoke harshly and callously about the children that had pour over the border recently. But before that he said he was going to go Big on immigration reform.

+In the polls that Jennifer Rubin quoted, the vast majority of Americans simply do not believe the reasons the Boehner gives for not addressing immigration reform--namely the House doesn't trust President Obama.

+Informed by Speaker Boehner that there would not be any movement on immigration reform this year,President Obama said that he would act with executive action and referred yesterday to the lack of movement on the Hill.

+If President Obama is to beef up the border guards, he needs to move them away from other tasks. To do that, he needs to move them away from enforcement.

+Major Garrett writes that President Obama told immigration activists that he was thinking of going DACA to the 10th power. That is not prosecuting non-documented immigrants . He said that he was thinking of allowing 5-6 million to obtain legal status and provide them with work permits. This would be a big bomb.

+In fact, John Boehner wants to include immigration in his suit.

+Observers at the meeting with Obama believed that he simply doesn't care about the impact of these moves on the mid-terms. It would only help marginally in blue states and might negatively affect Democrats running in red states. Observers believe Obama's attitude was focused more on his legacy.

Afternoon Delight

+ Harry Reid postponed the vote to confirm Patricia Millett to the D.C. Circuit Court.

+We're Rich! The United States household income is $77.3 trillion because of the rise in stocks and real estate value.

+Heritage Action came out and opposed the Ryan-Murray Budget proposal, even though no one knows what it is.

+Rep. Walter Jones is moving to declassify 28 pages of the reeducated 9/11 report that concerns the role of Saudi Arabia.

+Dick Cheney came out against the Iran deal because of Obamacare.

+Darryl Issa is wrapping up his Obamacare tour in Arizona and reports everyone wants it repealed. Harry Reid told Republicans get over it.

+Conservative Republican Mark Obernshein who lost the Attorney General's election in Virginia by about 150 votes now protests that vote security in Fairfax, a traditional Democratic stronghold, was lax. Next week, the recount begins.

+Providence Bishop Thomas Tobin came up with a unique criticism of Nelson Mandela--he had the wrong position on abortion.

+Amazing fact on the Thom Hartman show, it took fifteen years from when the first bill was submitted to the passage of sanctions against South Africa.

+No one in this area reported on the Saturday meeting of the John Birch Society at Mt. Vernon to discuss how best to resist President Obama.

+Greg Sargent reports that the extension of unemployment assistance looks like it will be omitted from any budget deal.

+The Ukrainian President said he would agree to talks with the protestors to resolve the issues tearing that country apart.

+President Obama is currently in flight to South Africa with Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush and Laura. Bill is traveling separately.

Obamacare A Done Deal

+Kevin Drum of Mother Jones writes an article today with the above mentioned title. He reads into Ezra Klein's Wonkblog into today's Amazon Post and concludes that, while we will hear new complaints from the GOP,basically Obamacare is here to stay since the website is pretty much fixed.

+Paul Krugman says that the "whole horrors of Obamacare " meme will be gone ,not in months but in weeks. His article is titled, "The Obamacare Worm Turns".

+Kathleen Sebelius earlier today urged everyone to get back on line at Healthcare.gov. The website now handles 800,000 applications per day. Soon we will be watching the numbers of enrollees like the monthly jobs figures.

+Greg Sargent asks "What if the GOP's Stance on Obamacare proves a liability?" He writes in the Post that this is the real uncovered news story. He writes that the Democrats' losses in the generic poll have all come from wealthy white voters. Meanwhile, Medicaid expansion is widely popular. Sargent reported that Democrats fear losing the Senate because of Obamacare. Americans fear they would lose the Senate with the GOP in its present state.

+Dinesh D'Souza, former President of King's College  and film maker of a documentary film on Obama which the Right circulated prior to the last election, says he is thankful the United States can survive "the adult Trayvon Martin in the White House". FOX News is trumpeting a new poll showing only a 39% approval rating for the President. For comparison, Ronald Reagan hit 33%, JFK 27% and FDR 36%.

+O' by the way, Congress's approval rating is 5% in a poll with a 3.5% margin of error. I guess the 1.5% are those same 1.5% who will have their insurance rates increase. The GOP has a whooping approval rating of 24%.

+Pope Francis launched a new papal encyclical blasting unfettered capitalism, "the idolatry of money", consumerism and decried the inequities of wealth within societies. He warned that reckless capitalism would breed "a new tyranny" and criticized supply-side economics as not being based on fact.
