The Little Ferry That Could

++With all the noise on the Middle East and Texas going hysterical because two gunmen inspired by ISIS attacked an anti-Moslem cartoon event, the Obama Administration approved a ferry service between Florida and Havana. The normalization of relations keeps going forward but you hear nothing from Washington. Nada, zip, zilch. I think that's a good thing.

++Let's give it up for Hillary. She minced no words today about immigration and threw the gauntlet down by saying that no Republican is put forward a responsible plan to provide a pathway to citizenship for undocumented workers. She said the issue is urgent and can't be delayed.She said she was committed to this as a top priority in his presidency.

++Remember President Obama and John McCain debated the need to fix immigration in 2008. They differed but agreed that it had to be fixed. Now faced with a Congress that is dysfunctional President Obama has moved with his executive orders which all Republicans have promised to reverse if elected.

++The GOP now faces a problem of triage in coping with the zoo of candidates for 2016. Their problem is that they need to winnow who gets to debate. If you go by percentages, you lose diversity with Dr. Carson and Carly Fiorina. Now they are thinking about limiting the number to $ and whose got it. But then they lose Carly. 

++Chris Matthews had Bernie Sanders on Hardball and was respectful of him but concerned that money is going to dominate the race. His skepticism was not about Bernie who he likened to Gene McCarthy but of the wealth that dominates our system as never before.
