Politico today published an article based on dozens of interviews with White House personnel which gave a portrait of a very frustrated President and a faction-ridden staff.
They write that factionalism is rampant, exhaustion running high, job duties are unclear, paranoia ripe over leaks and morale rock bottom.
Trump alternates between surprise and frustration. He doesn't comprehend the complexity of the national government and has no patience for discussing policy. He doesn't understand why he can't act like a CEO and is annoyed when people thwart his way.
The leaks of his conversations with foreign leaders led to a witch hunt over the leakers --still not found. Trump worries this all makes him look bad. While people close to him have suggested shaking up the White House staff, Trump thinks it is too soon and would send a signal out they didn't know what they were doing.
The piece does say he micromanages Sean Spicer and felt that the SNL skit by Melissa McCarthy undercut Spicer because he was played by a woman. Spicer is on the chopping block.
Even Melania has her problems. She has already gone though one social security and hired another.
Jennifer Rubin writes tonight about General Flynn and his scandal. He might be the sacrificial lamb for the Russia fracas.
Josh Marshall earlier had written that Trump's penchant with Executive Orders is part of his psychological need for dominance and as a consequences frustrates any legislative agenda he has because he is so focused on generating media coverage of himself with these orders he doesn't want to play nuance with Congress. Trump actually thinks that signing the order is the same as getting it done.
Howard Stern said about Trump that he craves adulation and if he doesn't get enough of it he becomes very depressed.
Meanwhile in the British Virgin Islands, a black guy known for No Drama is trolling all of us by kite-surfing.
