WHERE DOES IT ALL END?

We now have stories of Trump wandering the White House halls in his bathrobe and calling his closest aides early on the morning. His longtime backers like Roger Stone says the demonstrations outside Mar-A-Lago drive him crazy. He calls General Flynn up at 3am and asks whether a strong dollar is good for the economy or not. 

Today he complained again about the courts being too political. He insults Francois Hollande today on the phone complaining that our allies just rip us off. 

Meanwhile while Mitch McConnell red cards Elizabeth Warren for bring to read Coretta Scott King's letter on Sessions,Tom Udall and Senator Wyden finish the job without objection. John Cornyn says he hopes the little lady is chastened. Instead she raised a boatload of money because of this sexism.

The Republicans have adopted a new strategy for dealing with all the demands for having town hall meetings. Don't hold them. They are terrified that a new Tea Party is emerging. 

Trump's already low approval rate plummets and our allies are terrified by this toxic man.

It all sounds vaguely like the end days of the Nixon regime. Even Steve Bannon plays the Al Haig. Bannon may be called a white supremacist by Nancy Pelosi but he is much worse. Bannon's ties are international to all the hard -right parties in Europe and archbishop Burke,the former Archbishop of St. Louis.  What commentators miss is Bannon's ties to Duginism, which is an ideology of Putin's favorite pundit. Duginism views Russia as the only hope and beacon for Christian civilization. The idea is that Russia and the United States must form a holy alliance to combat Islamic terrorism and expansionist China. 

Bannon says we are at the beginning of creating a new political order and ,naturally,that we are at war and have been weakened by secularism. The national security elites are offended that Bannon got Trump to sign an Executive Order to put him on the National Security Council.  Bannon made the cover of Time this week as the "chief Manipulator"Others cite the knew biography of Rasputin as the model for Bannon's influence over Trump. 

We don't know what the game is about the repetitive assertions that Radical islamic Terrorists are pouring in our borders. The Trump regime eliminated white nationalists , sovereign citizens and other extreme white groups from their concerns. General Kelly says we don't know whether Trump's ban will work until we hear the first boom. 

Do you have a sense the Trump regime is setting something up to allow them to declare martial law? Under the Nixon administration, the head of the Joint Chief of Staff told anyone in the Pentagon to ignore Nixon's orders. 

So far the civil society has acted well. The marches and protests have been steady and around the clock. Our lawyers have been swarming the airports and offering legal help throughout the country pro bono. The calendar is full through the spring about marches from civil rights to science itself.

But what bothers me is that Democrats need a win. They came close with Betsy DaVos but she still ended up as Secretary of Education. this is a woman who never went to public school, her children never went o public school and she is committed to bailing out for-profit colleges. The NEA says she hasn't done damage yet and when she does they swill be suing.

And can we really wait to 2018? You will have an attorney general antagonistic to voters' rights and the Koch Brothers have $400 million just for the by-elections. 

We still have the fights over the emolument clause and Trump's financial corruption looks plainer by the day.

Trump's legitmacy is still in question. You can tell by members of congress discussing impeachment. The conditions are simply not there ---yet. 

Even Drudge is upset. He thinks the GOP should be sued for fraud because they have failed so far in not repealing Obamacare and lowering taxes. 

The Washington Post and others are doing what they did with Occupy--downplaying then role marches and protests can play and asserted that these events need leaders and specific, concrete goals.  Such as ,for instance, knowing that Congress can demand Trump's tax returns. 

So far Democrats are fighting back against the blitzkrieg. No real damage except to our world standing has been done. Keep it up! Resist!

An African friend e-mailed me that the worst of Trump is yet to come. An Ethiopian who sells me my expresso said she never knew there were so many nice people in the United States like those who came out to Dulles to protest the immigration ban.  We are still alive.
