January 3rd Congress convenes and the final assault on the social welfare net begins. It is not Obama's legacy that is at stake, it is the entire tradition of Social Security,Medicare and Medicaid and just plain health insurance. The long-term dream of the extreme right of the Republican party has been to roll back everything that began with FDR.
This Congress will seek to privatize more than just the social welfare net.
It is important that you flood your congress critters with your phone calls and even telegrams to make sure they have to do this in full public view.
Obama's legacy is safe. Unfortunately,he may be remembered as our last democratically elected President. I have been fortunate to see such a class act as my President and it was a privilege to live in his America.
