Keep a journal or diary in the Trump era. Unless you document the various acts you will miss the damage. In "An Iron Hand" about Hitler's occupation of Europe, those who were occupied alerted others about the use of keeping a diary.
Swiss theologian Karl Barth said that make your objections loud and clear and in public. He noted that different ethnic groups were still seen at railway stations despite Nazi laws and that was the best way to circulate news and convey solidarity. In the states it may well be the social media and any public forums.
The thing to avoid are rumors. Apparently people under occupation thrived on rumors--when Hitler is going to die and who was trying to overthrow him. It's best to accept Trump is who he is and only time will catch up to him.
I'm pleased that Churches and synagogues have readily embraced protecting undocumented workers. Also the number of sanctuary cities has grown. The same applies to universities ,even Trump's alma mater the University of Pennsylvania.
I would suggest fighting on domestic policy and here you are resisting the Republicans. But there are mechanisms through the political process to stop the worst from happening. Unfortunately the cabinet picks only need 50 votes and only with General Mattis can a filibuster be used. But confirmation hearings can be used to expose the most egregious of their flaws.
And naturally The shadow President of the United States--Governor Jerry Brown of California made a superb move by appointing Rep. Bercera as his new Attorney General. This signaled California would be the beacon of light in a darkening America.
I'm avoiding reading "news" about Trump but it is like Trumpporn. You are tempted. It really is grim.
