Happy July 4th Eve--Strange Doings

Orly Taitz has re-emerged and she's taking her birther case to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. That should be interesting.

Andrew Ferguson , a contributor to the Weekly Standard, wrote in the New YorkTimes Magazine on Newt's literary output. He reminded us of the futurist bent to Newt's thinking and how at every election cycle he always says we are at a crossroads. The Washington Post reports that the new Newt will try to cobble together a coalition based on single issues such as Alzheimer's. Newt expects Alzheimer's to cost America trillions of dollars in the future and promises to increase funding to find a cure. Not bad. This is the interesting Newt.

John Kasich wants to sell off the Ohio Turnpike for a few billion. He is modelling his plan on Indiana's sale of its northern turnpike. So this means about five times the fares for my trips out there. Meanwhile the unions have gotten enough signatures for SB5, the union busting bill, to be put to a referendum. And they delivered them with that cool semi that showed up in Wisconsin during the demonstrations.

Readers of this blog will remember my wish that photographers would document our current Depression. Washington Post had a feature on the new generation of photographers called Facing Change.

Too many software problems tonight. We'll try tomorrow
