Hush-Hush

+As Danny DeVito says in LA Confidential.

+While you all are preoccupied about Brian Williams helicopter and wondering whether a rich man will keep his job, Fox News is embroiled in a massive scandal.

+It seems the case in New York federal court against Saudi Arabia for funding the 9-11 attacks has uncovered the role of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. Fox News reporter James Rosen revealed Talal's involvement on "Special Report" hosted by Bret Baier.

+So why is this a problem? Talal was until this court case opened the primary shareholder in News Corps and the second largest shareholder in Fox News. He is a close friend of Rupert Murdoch and his family.

+The day the court case was open to testimony of the hijacker Zacharias Moussaoui, Talal sold his stakes in News Corps and Fox News. He still retains partial ownership in 21st Century Fox.

+This story is now hot in the conservative blogs. Typically, they had to say that he met regularly with James Murdoch, "the liberal" son. While Talal has shown footage on his Saudi stations of him meeting and hugging Rupert.

+Whenever he has appeared on Fox News to discuss Muslim affairs he is addressed as "Your Highness". Lately he has been blasting ISIS and when questioned about Saudi past involvement in terrorism he defends the regime and explains that now laws are in place preventing Saudis from supporting terrorist organizations. He appears moderate and sensible on camera.

+But his role as a banker for Al Qaeda has surfaced in the Saudi case and is rumored to lie within the classified section of the 9-11 Report.

+This doesn't help Fox News when the Guardian has been blasting this week for showing the footage of the Jordanian pilot being set on fire and saying Fox News was acting as the media arm of ISIS.

+Conservative blogs are demanding that James Rosen be allowed to investigate the role of Talal in 9-11.

+Talal's role in Fox News has not been as a silent partner but explicitly Ruper Murdoch has admitted to his board that he ordered changes in news coverage at Talal's suggestion. Most recently,Fox News apologized for its statements about "No-Go" areas in Paris. Obviously the French had a field day mocking their coverage. But it seems Talal intervened to get Fox to apologize.

+Expect to see more on this story in the days and weeks ahead. It beats Brian Williams' helicopter fiasco hands-down. Give Fox News for reporting on themselves.
