You really didn't like Obama's remarks at the Prayer Breakfast?

++Conservatives have been disturbed that President Obama hasn't announced we were at war against Islamic extremism. Ed Kilgore at the Washington Monthly had a post today, pointing out that this is nonsensical. Are the conservatives against the Saudis and their Wahhabism? Are they are the theocracy of Iran? (Most certainly ,yes.) Are they against Sunni or Shi'ite extremism or both? Both. Are they against executing Muslims in Egypt? No. But like in the War Against Terror, the Right is trying to frame the issue in their forms of political correctness.

++So we go to President Obama attacking theocracies today and Islamic extremism. Not good enough because he equated Christianity with some of the worst violence in history. He even brought it home to slavery and Jim Crow, which were rationalized by invoking Jesus Christ--poor guy.

++Well, that did it. President Obama has never gotten me riled up the way he can the Right. The most obvious statements made by this poor man are twisted into absurdity and made as if he didn't deliver them in his calm tone. I will never understand how anyone could be outraged by what this man has said throughout his presidency.

++If you want an appreciation, read Andrew Sullivan's final piece on President Obama and why he voted for him twice and doesn't regret it. As Andrew heads into the sunset tomorrow, it's worth a read about Sullivan's appreciation of the man warts and all. Meep. Meep.
