DIRE PERIOD OF SCANDAL

From Last Friday's Rachel Maddow Show, it is worth summarizing some items about where the Russia scandal is moving.

The Attorney General of Cyprus has handed over to the U.S. documentation on Manafort's financial transactions there. That would be the cash payments for his creating a pro-Putin television network in the Ukraine.

Senator Booker has requested from Commerce Secretary Ross information on his role in the Bank of Cyprus and also his relationship with Russia's Fertilizer King.

The U.S. is investigating Deutsche Bank, to which Trump owes $300 million, for Russian money laundering. Since Preet was fired as U.S. Attorney on this investigation,Senator Van Hollen has written to Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from this investigation. With Preet gone, it Sessions' direct responsibility for this.

The open hearing this Tuesday with Mike Rogers,Clapper and former Acting AG Yates was unilaterally cancelled by Nunes. Yates has never said what transpired to bring accusations against General Flynn to the White House and why it took a month for the WH to act.

Angela Mitchell found out that the WH staff was purging their phones of of any information from the transition in spite of court orders because they expected subpoenas.

Richard Engels is in Cyprus for NBC News to report on Cyprus as the laundering center for Putin's cronies.

The last point Rachel made was about the strange WSJ piece on General Flynn plotting with the Turkish ambassador in a Manhattan Hotel the kidnapping of a Turkish dissident.  Rachel's point was that James Woolsey who informed the WSJ was a member of the Trump transition team and took a while to report this. Woolsey during the campaign withdrew his support suddenly and without explanation. Why?

The week ahead should provide more of this hydra-headed investigation.
