In case you missed the Obama administration,the United States is now energy independent and we don't import coal. Since Trump is trying to do this by executive order,he will run into the problems that some environmental regulations are laws that have to be enforced. Others will be litigated.
I am concerned about his motivations and intent but I remember that Gina McCarthy had consulted all the states in the Power Plan that Obama adopted. Two coal burning plants were closed this past week. States were phasing out coal and oil-burning plants anyway except new EPA director's Oklahoma.
So in the future If Trump pretends he made the U.S. energy independent he didn't.
The Sierra Club points out that solar employs 5 people for every 1 employed by coal and natural gas.
