The website Patribotics says that a Connecticut court revealed that Team Trump paid the hackers. Louise Mensch asserts that recently departed Trump aide Boris Epshteyn was the paymaster.
The story goes back to the server at Trump Tower which Mensch claims relayed messages back and forth to Russia and that packets of info were picked up by Trump individuals every day.
Epshteyn's lawyer has responded to Mensch but in a very ambiguous way and not in an aggressive defense of Epshteyn.
It will be interesting to find out how accurate Mensch turns out in the whole process. Where she has been ahead of other news outlets has been on the hacking that when far behind the DNC. She was vindicated in part by the Senate intel committee talking about the bots flooding the emails of swing voters. This was beyond the DNC hack.
The fact Epshteyn lasted in the White House until last week should give one pause.
