Russia and US in Talks To Resolve Syrian Issue

++Russia, the United States and Saudi Arabia met directly to talk about ending the Syrian civil war. The Saudi Foreign Minister went off to Oman to signal an overture to Iran to talk Syria.

++The New York Times piece by Anne Bernard explains the delicacies of the situation. Russia has removed its objection to an investigation of who used chemical weapons in Syria, long a sticking point in moving the discussions further.

++The other aspect mirrored the Iranian foreign minister who said that Assad would only be a token. It seems the Obama Administration will be moving away from the Assad must go stance. As John Kerry said,"He's lost all legitimacy." What changed the story was that Assad has suffered serious battlefield losses and the American moderates won't fight or are no-existent. Both Russia and the United States fear ISIS moving in to fill the vacuum.
