Democratic Debate--Interesting, Solid, Tepid

+Anderson Cooper must be the perfect foil. As Josh Marshall said he stylishly came off as very aggressive but seemed to lack the facts. Hillary Clinton dodged his supposed bullets.

+There were no fireworks . Hillary Clinton handled her Iraq War vote well by silencing Chaffee that Obama made her Secretary of State. Bernie got hamstrung on guns but came off in his usually manner.

+For me the disappointment was Martin O'Malley who didn't seem to have the breakout moment he needed. His a much better candidate than his poll numbers.

+Hillary Clinton was expert on the waterfront and did a public service by explaining Libya and what we did and did not do there. Bernie Sanders gets the best line by saying that the American public is sick and tired of hearing about Hillary's emails.

+Josh Marshall pointed out that the disagreements came as parallel arguments but not direct clashes.

+I thought Hillary was steady in tone, unflustered and substantive in get answers. I thought Bernie was vehement in his positions with a tone that might turn off people.

+The get Hillary moments like she proclaims she is a progressive but in Iowa she claims she is middle-of the road. She said she was a progressive who wanted to get things done.

+I think she hit #Benghazi! out of the park but opened the door to GOP attacks when she appears before the Committee. She called the Committee an outgrowth of the RNC, a remark which will incite backlash.

+Hillary Clinton was the first and only presidential candidate that mentioned Planned Parenthood. She needs to hammer reproductive rights more because none else will.

+I think Hillary did well for herself tonight. I question whether Bernie managed to extend his support.

+All in all a decent debate but it did miss the Donald for some spark.
