Human Rights watch Proposes Hoe The Obama Administration Can Prosecute Torture

++ It has been almost a year since the Senate executive summary on torture was released. At that time, Human Rights Watch asked the Department of Justice to investigate whether criminal charges could be brought against the individuals involved.

++Last week Human Rights Watch presented a 153-page report on how The Obama Administration might put this issue to rest. So far neither the Administration or The Department of Justice has responded.

++Human Rights Watch has found 21 officials in the Bush Administration of being liable to criminal charges. They include Dick Cheney,George Tenet,John Ashcroft and Condi Rice.

++Human Rights Watch calls for the creation of an independent commission which would examine the unclassified full Senate report and re-examine it for the potential to file criminal charges.

++On those who have been victims of torture by the United States, the Human Rights Watch asks that an international team be gathered to investigate the claims and that protection would be given to these individuals.

++I say at least declassify the Senate Torture Report in its 6,000page glory.
