+I was delighted by his remarks on Karl Rove. He said,"That guy still thinks Romney won the election. He lost all the elections he backed in 2012. Why does anyone still listen to him." Sentiments I have expressed for years to Republicans.
+If you heard Trump tonight, you get the pre-conservative movement politics of Reagan. Trump is no neo-conservative. He was attacked today in a piece by Bob Gates in the Washington Post.Actually he is hanging that on Hillary. He claims he wants a united Republican Party. He wants consensus in the country on the big issues. He does not talk supply side economics. In fact he is making the pitch to "working class" democrats with his infrastructure talk. He doesn't have the ideological chops of , say, a Ted Cruz.
+He reminded me of the early Reagan presidential days when theses streams of conservative thought had not solidified. And remember Reagan may have increased defense spending but was actually reticent to use force--Grenada. There was not the colossal national security apparatus that grew up under George W. Bush. There is no PNAC in Trump's past. But he assures his crowd he is as "militaristic" as the next person. A winning attribute in a party of Chickenhawks.
+That doesn't mean he is benign. He's says he is for torture but it probably doesn't work. That sells better to the base than pretending it does. He is for ratting out your neighbors even though you'll probably be wrong. And he is convinced the family of the shooters know far more than they are telling and should pay for that. And the list goes on.
+But he is the logical extension of the reaction against President Obama. A few bad apples in the police. The media just blows it up. The media are the most dishonest people in America. But he doesn't use the term "Leftist" as conservatives do for the media.
+But the Right will be disappointed in him also because he doesn't toe the party line. This explains part of Fox News problem with him.
+I should go see him in person because when I saw Obama in 2008 I knew he was the real deal. He spoke in ways I wanted Presidents to speak. No more grunts from George W. Bush.
+Alex on Infowars complimented the Donald on keeping his language simple so people could understand. A conservative in 2008 went to a Sarah Palin rally and he came away loving it because she spoke like a "true American". Her voice alone sounded like fingernails on a chalk board. But there is a conservative meme to keep the language simple for the masses.
+I have to look at the two person polls again. The Donald says he will beat Hillary in a Fox News Poll. Others have Hillary beating him by 6 to 7--which is too close for my comfort level.
