New York Times Front Page

++Patrick Healy and Maggie Haberman "95,000 Words Many Of Them Ominous,From Trump's Tongue".

++The Times feed every word Trump said in the past week into the computer and generated 95,000 words and analyzed them.

++"The dark power of his words has become the defining feature of Mr. Trump's bid for the White House in a degree rarely seen in modern politics,as he forgoes the usual campaign trappings -policy, endorsements, commercials,donations--and instead relies on potent language to connect with and often stoke, the fears and grievances of Americans."

++The long piece makes mention of his breezy and folksy stage presence. This makes him all the more effective and less off-putting than  the raging men of old.

++The most striking hallmark has Trump's constant repetition of divisive phrases, harsh words and violent imagery that American presidents rarely use. He uses "we" and "you" has he inveighs against a dangerous "them".

++Read the piece. It reminds us of the early days on this blog when I referred to the Canadian study of American authoritarianism and how the modern GOP voter responds to "strong" leaders.

++Hopefully, the next part of the piece would be how to combat the effectiveness of the Donald.
