President Obama Casts His Magic In Omaha

++Speaking for the first time since the State of the Union,President Obama urged Americans to reject doom and gloom. This time before average Americans,he relaxed and let loose. The President broke his State of the Union speech down to bite sized nuggets on everything from the economy--Nebraska has a 3% unemployment rate--to foreign policy.

++The Omaha press interviewed people who were attending the event.Remarkably it was similar to ages past. Parents were bringing their children to "see history." An African-American said she brought her son to see what an African-American president looked like and that he could aspire to that degree of excellence.

++Profound--maybe no--but I like Obama getting out and enjoying some of the love some American have for him.

++The one poignant moment was when President Obama dropped into see a letter writer to him. The woman wrote a letter about whether her son could enjoy just spending a nice day under a tree, enjoying nature. She said her days were filled with dread that he will only be able to see animals in the zoo and that humans will have destroyed the environment.
