++Martin Longman in the Washington Monthly dissects the recent attempts by the GOP to torpedo the Donald. Longman explains the problem with mobilizing your base at the expense of an appeal to the general population.
++He examines the efforts of Alex Castellanos ,an adman for George W. Bush and Mitt Romney, putting together an ad campaign against the Donald. In the mist of it,they discovered that Ted Cruz is the other elephant in the room.
++Longman quotes Josh Holmes, the homer chief of staff for Mitch McConnell, saying that with either the Donald or Cruz "we'd be hard-pressed to elect a Republican dogcatcher north of the Mason-Dixon and west of the Mississippi." The concern is that the GOP will not only lose the presidential election but also the Senate and many state houses with these two guys.
