We Do Not Accept That Carnage Is The Price For Freedom--Barack Obama

++Listened to President Obama's speech on gun violence a second time. He hit his rhythm at the end when he invoked what other rights the people in Charleston, Lynchberg,Aurora,Oak Creek and Sandy Hook lost while others exercised their gun right.  Still a powerful speech and more substantive actions than I previously thought.  $500 million increase in mental illness programs is not something to sneeze at.

++But what was most impressive is how the Democratic Party whipped into action immediately afterwards. Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic congressional committees, National Memo, End Citizens United weight in with complimentary e-mails that brought up the key themes in the speech. You just hope they do the same in the elections where the Democratic message machine has been found wanting.

++Yes, it does matter who is President. And today the President still had the juice to get the machine running.
