THE POLITICS OF NONVIOLENT ACTION--GENE SHARP

Extending Horizon Books.

The Methods of Nonviolent Action.

I like for the United States " bureaucratic obstruction' and non cooperation with enforcement agencies.
Sharp has also written shorter pieces like "the Anti-Coup" and "There are Realistic Alternatives".

Sharp's sections on Formal statements is vital for universities, professional organizations, and speeches. This seems to be step that is necessary the minute actions are taken by the Trump administration.

Sharp's section on communication also has some fun ideas like Skywriting. Trump plans to hold rallies after elected. This is perfect for them.

Sharp also discusses civil disobedience to "normal laws", those that are intended to make government's work easier. I would suggest that local refusal to deal with all legislation such as deportation is a possibility here.

If you are a college teacher, these books should be recommended whatever your discipline.
