++Just when you thought Iowa was lost,the Braley campaign responded to the Selzer poll. In a rather methodical fashion, they argue that all the polls except for the Des Moines Register claims it is a dead heat. Momentum is on Braley's side. There is a clear and significant lead among early votes. There is a strong and consistent lead for Braley among independent voters. Braley leads by 22 its with those who don't normally vote in mid-term elections, a target group for Democratic GOTV. Democrats have gotten 60,000 new voters to request ballots. More than 22,000 new voters are for Braley than Ernst.
++To their credit, they laid out their case. The nervousness among observers is how GOTV in both Iowa and Colorado work.
++Meanwhile Republicans are telling Democrats that their neighbors will know they didn't vote for the GOP. Then they tell Republicans that President Obama will know who they vote for. I guess the latter is to fire up the tea party members. The GOP is also telling Democrats they can vote via e-mail--not true.
