House Passes Keystone XL Pipeline

++Early this morning I saw another ad for the Keystone XL Pipeline. It says it is necessary for us to cease dependency on Mideast Oil. This was the line when this started being an issue under George W. Bush.

++The House vote was 270 to 152.

++John Boehner exulted that they had "finished the work of the Keystone Pipeline." He accused President Obama siding with "the extremists opposed to the pipeline". Watch this language appear more and more in the climate change debate. All those who want action are "extremists". Maybe Boehner can get the FBI to extend their surveillance on climate change activists.

++President Obama has promised to veto this legislation. The EPA comments to the State Department report should give him enough cover to veto it.

++It is unclear what would happen if the Senate over-rode the veto. The pipeline is tied up in litigation.
