Mitticulous

+The Master of the Universe has had the worst campaign days imaginable. National and state polls are becoming aligned and the tax return issue continues to drip on his parade.

+CNN/ORC poll mirrored the Reuters/Ipsos poll showing President Obama at 52 to Romney's 45. Independents favor Obama 53 to 42. More importantly for me is that 63% want Romney to release his tax returns and 67% of independents want him to.

+Fox News has Obama at 49 to Romney's 40 and Obama leads independents in this poll by 11.

+Polltracker has Obama at 49.2 and Romney at 43.3.

+Kos himself posted an essay yesterday which is worth reading about how Democrats are winning. He also has a telling analysis about how the Superpac ads in the swing states aren't effecting Obama's standing. He predicts the Democrats will also hold the Senate because the Republican primary turned up more teabag candidates. On the House, he said large gains for Democrats but iffy on taking control.

+The Romney campaign tried to fight back this morning with Rinse Penis or Free Pussy as Fox News called him saying that Gallup and Rasmussen differed from the CNN and Fox news polls. Rinse also said he wasn't going to talk about Romney's taxes anymore and dismissed the large numbers saying he had to release more.

+Harry Reid kept the tax issue alive when his aide leaked that the source was a Republican and then he hesitated about whether the source was still a Republican. But the speculation quickly centered on the Huntsman family, which has had an antagonistic relationship with the Romneys for years. The betting is that the source is John Huntsman's father, who was a business partner with the original Bain crowd. The reasons for the leak is the subject of much speculation but possibly that the Mormons didn't get their proper cut of Romney's wealth.

+In answering Obama's Superpac ad about a man's wife dying because she didn't have health care after Bain closed the steel plant, Andrea Saul, Romney's spokeswoman, said if her husband had moved to Massachusetts she would have had healthcare under Romney. This sparked outrage from Rush Limbaugh on down as the Romney campaign finally acknowledged his single political achievement. Ann Coulter demanded Saul be fired and that all donors stop giving to Romney.

+The Teabaggers have been circulating a petition that the Republican convention not nominate Romney because they argued his Mormonism was a problem as was his healthcare plan.

+The DNC is trailing Romney's campaign around with the "Middle Class Under the Bus" tour, which highlights the impact of Romney's tax plan on the middle class.

+Seen as the logical Vice President for Romney, Rob Portman, Senator from Ohio, the Senator showed up in Colorado to campaign for Romney and no one on the campaign recognized him or knew who he was. He was seen wandering around.

+Pressure is being exerted by the right-wing on Romney to select Paul Ryan as his vice President. Ryan's famous plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system was denounced by the Catholic Bishops.

+Romney launched his attacks on Obama as waging a war against religion like in the Soviet Union. The problem quickly showed up as the Franciscans and Catholic nuns wanted Romney to see how the poor are living.

+Ann Coulter didn't retreated after she couldn't get Saul fired. Instead she is campaigning against stupid single women, in particular Sandra Fluke who introduced President Obama in Colorado.

+Romney also launched an ad against Obama claiming the President had changed welfare so you no longer have to work. Bill Clinton was the first to attack, then the major newspapers like the Times and the Washington Post chimed in, then the Obama campaign counter-attacked. Newt Gingrich was chosen to lead point in attacking Obama on this but admitted the charge was false---at this time.

+It got so bad that people started speculating that it was Matt Romney who leaked the info to Harry Reid about his father's taxes. Stories surfaced that Mitt would smash his sons faces into mashed potatoes as a malicious prank. Then it surfaced that he did the same with a grandchild into a plate of whipped cream.

+In Truthout, an ex-Mormon professor wrote a lengthy and scathing piece about Romney's tenure as Bishop and leader, which characterized him as uncaring and only interested in people who could help him in his career.

+Meanwhile President Obama seemed to have the wind at his back as he drew huge crowds all over Colorado.
