Wind Energy

++Stewart Acuff has a post on the Dailykos that is interesting for it says about alternative energy sources. Acuff has been criticized for his writing on energy because of his opposition to further exploitation of fossil fuels.

++He writes that the MIT Technology Review has an article on the rise of wind power in Colorado. Their largest utility Xcel Energy went from opposing the 10% requirement for wind power and now supports the 30% mandate.

++Why? MIT points out that the technology exists to predict wind power. This means that utilities can now know the amount of base power it can generate, allowing utilities to make the decision to support its use on a consistent basis.

++Acuff also points out that water power is still a big deal. The province of Quebec now receives 98% of its power from hydroelectric sources.

++In case you missed it, Marco Rubio, while saying he is ready to be President, denied climate change was caused by man. Even Joey the Scar on the morning Joe defended him saying that the Democrats have gone to extremes on the climate change issue. I guess Democrats have gone to extremes on evolution, too.
