In the Weird

++Remind me not to use "Vishnu" Jindal. Bobby Jindal--he took Bobby from the Brady Bunch. But Jindal's first name is Piyush, which I think we should use.

++Ed Kilgore writes the most absurd headline out the UK election was Politico's "Messina trounces Axelrod in UK elections". Messina advised Cameron but most observer wrote about an Australian wunderkind adviser who pull the trick off.

++Kilgore reminds me that UKIP actually held onto one seat after LaFarge lost his. I wonder whether their Arlington, Virginia office will close or will they get folded into the Republican Party.

++While Pamela Geller is making the rounds on FOX after the Garland attack on her Mohammed cartoon seminar, let's remember the person most inspired by her and Robert Spencer,Mr. No Go Zones in England, Anders Breivik, who massacred young political leaders in Norway.

++Asne Seierstad has just published "One of Us--The Story of Anders Breivik and the Massacre in Norway" (Farrar, Straus and Giroux). Once a war reporter, she was urged by Tina Brown to cover the story in her homeland. It is an amazing piece of work with interviews of survivors,Breivik's family and political cronies, psychologists and parts from the trial transcripts. Extraordinary work and illuminating about Breivik's psychological problems and who they fed his politics and ultimate actions.
