The hackers who spread the fake news about Qatar and triggered the abrupt severing of relations by Saudi Arabia and others are supposedly Russian.
Now the U.S. has a large airbase there which is the center of aerial attacks on ISIS. The Seventh Fleet is stationed there. And Qatar plays a regional role in negotiating between the Afghan government and the Taliban.
The fact Trump doesn't know this is staggering but likely given his carte blanche to the Saudis. It is a failure of his position as Commander in Chief.
