Risen Not To Testify in Leak Case

+The New York Times reports that James Risen will not be called to testify in the leak case, which has tied him down for seven years. The leak by the way was of a CIA scheme during the Clinton years to plant fake nuclear weapons' plans among the Iranians. Hopefully  Risen's nightmare is over.

+Dianne Feinstein says there are sleeper cells from terrorist groups in the US.

+The Keystone Pipeline passed the procedural vote with 63 to reach the Senate floor for a full vote.

+The House Budget Chairman says that there will be many "reforms" his committee will make to Social Security. This is the type of thing I dread since it can only destroy lives.

+House Dems have accepted the idea of the Financial Transaction Tax and introduce it into Congress. This blog has been for this move since we began.

+Elizabeth Warren scored one with the withdrawal of Obama's nomination to Treasury/

+The Romney-Bush war is heating up. Jeb's team says that Jeb is the future and Mitt is the past. That's certainly snappy.

+Charley Hebdo is back in an edition that is 1 million and will probably reach 2 million because of overseas demand. The cover portrays Mohammed weeping with "All is forgiven " across his forehead.

+The White House admits that a larger American presence was warranted at the "freedom and tolerance" rally.

+Israeli papers have broken the story that Bibi was not invited because Hollande didn't want divisive issues like Israel and Palestine to mar the event. When Bibi sent signals he was coming, Hollande invited Abbas.

+French authorities say that 3 from the neighborhood ring are still at large and that one of the Charlie Hebdo killers was a roommate of the Underwear Bomber when they were training in Yemen.

+17,000 French security were out in force today. A major job was guarding Jewish establishments and schools because past terrorism has targeted Jewish schools in France.

+While not my idea of the perfect messenger, I thought Bibi was right to lecture Europe for tolerating the rise of anti-semitic parties and offering Europe's remaining Jewish population home in Israel. The sad irony is that the majority of the Jewish population in France today are immigrants from former French colonies in northern Africa. The Charlie Hebdo killers are also sons of immigrants from France's colony, Algeria, in northern Africa. Both would be the victims of a LePen run France.
