Democrats Lose Last Senator in Deep South

++Not since the late 19th century has Louisiana been represented by two Republican Senators. Tonight Mary Landrieu lost to Representative Bill Cassidy in the run-off.

++Mary Landrieu tried an attempt to get the Keystone  XL Pipeline passed in an attempt to shore up her support. She claimed that her seniority on the Energy Committee benefited Louisiana. I guess no one bought that in Louisiana.

++It's a long winter for Southern Democrats.
