Mark Udall Saves His Best Moment at His Last

+There are reasons Colorado voters should regret voting out Mark Udall. His presented his version of the Senate Torture Report and the efforts the CIA went to try and scuttle it in a masterful speech to the Senate. Udall's point was that the CIA former directors you have been hearing the last two days are lying and that the Panetta Review of the data given the Senate Intelligence Committee proves it.

+Udall went at great length to show how the CIA conjured up fake criminal allegations against the Senate staff and submitted a complaint to the DOJ. The CIA's own legal counsel showed that the CIA did bug the staff's "protected" computers and fake the charges against staffers to intimidate them.

+Udall went on to blast John Brennan demanding he resign for the false testimony to the Committee and not fulfilling his promise to be interviewed by the Committee and submitting the full Panetta Review to the Committee,a document that Udall claims is the Rosetta stone to the whole affair.

+Udall call for the full declassification of the entire report, the Panetta Review and the CIA's legal counsel statement about the CIA interfering with the staff's computers.

+Udall blasted President Obama for constantly delaying the declassification process of the summary report and allowing redacting so that the narrative was lost. Udall claimed that not allowing pseudonymns for agent's names led to the impression many more agents were involved then was true. Udall suggested major players in the torture program have been promoted and are playing lead roles in today's CIA. He called on President Obama to clean house and start a new culture within the CIA.

+Udall claimed that the CIA lies today and continues to lie to the intelligence committee. He warns this is dangerous to the country.

+Udall's full speech was posted on Democracyunderground. It is worth seeing it in its entirety.

+Fredo Gonzalez told Wolf Blitzer he was worried about traveling to NATO countries because of the Torture Report.

+Andrew Sullivan posted a rant but a very eloquent lament about the United States becoming a first tier human rights violator and President Obama being complicit in the torture program for his refusal to prosecute the torturers.

+Dick Cheney endorsed the program but did admit "anal hydration" was not one of the approved techniques. Cheney hid behind the Bush legal opinions rationalizing torture. Bret Breier at FOX actually took Cheney on suggesting he helped craft the legal opinions that gave Bush broader powers and that he knew more about the program than anyone else.

+Poland admitted it allowed the country to be used as a "black site" but did not know about the torture conducted there.

+Udall also blasted President Obama for withholding 990 documents without declaring executive privilege. Critics of the report noted that torture by Libya,Syria and Jordan were omitted from the report.

+The $80 million psychologists who designed the program had no experience in interrogation,no knowledge of Al Qaeda, and never knew the languages of the detainees. In addition, they were tasked with evaluating the success of their own program. Naturally, they concluded it was a success so they netted a $140 million contract. Only $80 million was paid.

+The Senate Report took five years to write and had been completed for over two years. It took this long to get it released.
