Torture Fans

+They allowed Dick Cheney on Sweeney Todd again where he emphasized "he would do it again" referring to the CIA's torture program. I always like Cheney saying he would do something again when he didn't have the authority. Do we have Dan Quayle on saying he would do it too?

+Without any irony Karl Rove appeared on Fox News to say that President Bush did know about the torture program and defended rectal feeding. What is Rick Santorum going to do with all these right-wingers concentrating on hie nickname. Frothy Mix.

+The Imperial Post did publish Ken Roth calls for prosecution of those responsible but as the official organ of the CIA they managed a long op-ed explaining how Michael Hayden could tell all those falsehoods. They also went into how the videos of torture were destroyed because they didn't want to offend us.

+The Torture Report presents a myriad of questions in the international arena. The UN Special Rapporteur made it clear that Eric Holder had an obligation to re-open the cases for prosecution according to the requirements of the Torture Treaty.

+The UK now faces questions about the British being accomplices in torture sessions in Uzbekistan and Pakistan. They are now calls for Blair and Straw to be tried for at least deceiving the British public.

+It worked is not a defense. I would like the torture advocates try to put forth a legal argument why they shouldn't be prosecuted. We have heard the defense of torture by the lawyers but not a defense of their own participation in writing the legal permission to torture.

+If you don't think this is a problem, then you haven't noticed how the CIA psychologists are lawyering up.

+You might recall the conviction of a leading German jurist at the Nuremberg trial. A man renown in legal circles in the West and considered a pillar of pre-Hitler jurisprudence. But he was convicted for providing the legal rationale for crimes against humanity even though he wasn't a Nazi.

+Do you think Adolf Eichmann if he had Fox News and Sweeney Todd around in his day would have escaped prosecution? Just a thought, not a sermon.
