Ready For Rubio

+Marco Rubio has to trade mark his water. He told us that "our exceptionalism" is threatened and that his generation will be judged by the decisions they make.

+He invoked working Americans of every occupation and says if they can't live the American dream than we have failed.

+He claimed that Hillary Clinton was running to restore the past. Not so sure where he got that.

+He claimed he was the new generation to look forward.

+In an earlier statement, he said he would be leading the New American Century, a term that invokes PNAC, the neo-conservative group that helped launch the Iraq War. From his behavior in the Senate there is nothing to suggest he would not do the same.

+He said that he wanted hits children to be part of the richest and most free generation in the land.

+Rubio avoided the bitter rhetoric of Cruz and Rand Paul in their statements. He didn't hark backwards like they did but he said nothing to indicate he was ready for the New Economy.

+Earlier today Ed Kilgore wondered whether Rubio will get credit for policy initiatives he once endorsed but then renounced--such as comprehensive immigration reform and his initiative on climate change when he was in the Florida legislature. His rhetoric has since changed.

+Yesterday Jennifer Rubin liked him to the new golfer who won the Master's and the IWatch. She said that Americans all want new things and he's one of them.

+But his remarks in the Senate on Obamacare should make one pause and his defense of shutting down the government. He believes Obamacare is a disaster, despite all facts to the contrary. He also advocates putting more forces on the ground in the Middle East. He has vowed to stop normalization of relations with Cuba and is one of those who signed the letter to Tehran.

+He has the sugar king of Florida on his side and another billionaire supporter. Now it seems Mitt Romney is warming up to him. It should be noted that Rubio was considered as Mitt's Veep except for some scandals that lurked in his closet during his days in the Florida legislature.

+So in May, we get Ben Carson. On April 30, Bernie Sanders is supposed to make his announcement about his intentions.

+Latin decisions has polled Latinos on Rubio in all states where the Latino vote would be crucial. He has negative approval ratings in all states  except Florida where he is barely above water.

+Curiously, Latino voters take climate change more seriously than whites and Rubio takes a nosedive here and his abandonment of the immigration reform he co-wrote destroys his reputation among non-Cuban Hispanics.
