The State Department Recommends

++Reuters reports , based on Senate sources, that the State Department has recommended that Cuba be dropped for the states supporting terrorism.

++This issue has put a wrench in the possibility of full normalization and the lifting of the economic embargo.

++I don't know whether President Obama will announce this in Panama.

++On another development, President Obama talked to Senator Corker about giving the Iranian negotiations a chance.

++Democrats, who seem to support the Corker bill, are now getting skittish because the Republicans are beginning to throw in everything but the kitchen sink. Now Iran has to denounce terrorism as a condition for Senate approval. Last week Bibi floated the idea that a pre-condition for any deal has to be the recognition of Israel.

++John Brennen gave a talk at Harvard where he said he was very surprised by the scope of the Iran deal and said he was convinced it did put them in a box.
