The Odd

+I'm sure you were concerned as I was when Newt Gingrich said in the 2012 elections that people were using food stamps to go to Hawaii. Luckily, Sam Brownback has us covered because Kansas now has outlawed the use of food stamps on cruises. I always wondered how they got to Hawaii and now I know. I'm relieved by this shrewd move in Kansas.

+I have questions about the type of gay and lesbian couples who might actually cater their weddings and have pizza served. Should people who serve pizza at their weddings be allowed to marry? Rosemary Barr says that lesbians won't do this. If they are strapped for cash, they would have a potluck dinner.

+The Focus on Your Family, Not Mine is going on a 21-day hunger strike to protest same-sex marriages. I hope someone there knows about the dangers of hunger strikes. Maybe they should hire Dick Gregory, who is a pro at navigating the health risks of hunger strikes.

+Pat Robertson is concerned about anal sex and says that it is the reason gays shouldn't marry. Because they whole point of marriage is procreation and no one has ever gotten pregnant through anal sex.

+Mike Pence can throw his presidential ambitions in the garbage can because his poll numbers have evaporated with the Religious Right to Discriminate Against Gays bill.

+The Right have a new con. Crowdsourcing for people who claim their businesses are going under because of The Gay and their Christian beliefs. First it was the Pizza parlor in Indianapolis, next a florist in Washington state, and another man in Florida. They have managed to raise $100s of Thousands of dollars. The Catch is that conservatives are fighting about who gets the money. The Web site?,The right-wing organization? Or the oppressed business owner?

+The Religious Freedom Act is the logical outcome of the Hobby Lobby case. Can businesses really have religious beliefs?

+Can a "Christian" business refuse to serve divorced people, bankers, adulterers or the military for religious reasons? Can they refuse to pay taxes?

+A Court upheld a ruling for a bakery who refused to bake a cake with icing that said "God Hates Fags". I hope they invoked religious freedom but I understand they were just against hate.

+And what does any of the above have to do with religion? This is the last gasp of the social conservatives who want to inflict lasting damage on our society. As wedge issues go, this may sell in the Deep South but for the rest of the country it is a real turnoff.
