Late Afternoon Trivia

+So I try and find a way for Willard to win without Ohio so what do I get. Willard's ad blitzkrieg doesn't include Nevada now. So Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada. After the lukewarm reception he got today in Iowa, it looks like Iowa may be next. The Romney Triage Tour.

+Meanwhile Ann and her dancing horse campaigned at a young woman's riding academy in Northern Virginia today. I don't know whether you can make anything up about this campaign at this date.

+President Obama and Joe Biden hit New Hampshire and were met by joyous crowds.

+Romney tried to attract students at an Iowa College by offering autographed Mitts. The campaign had to fill the venue with elderly white men.

+The Swing State headlines for President Obama were all positive.

+Willard said that the auto bailout was his idea--again, that he didn't thank the troops because it wasn't on his list for his speech and he had more important things to do. The last remark provoked an angry letter from a mother of a fallen service man. He also said that he would start "straight talk". I guess that means John McCain will show up.

+Willard's North Carolina attacks ads claim that he will create jobs by "Drill, Baby, Drill" or his equivalent and "standing up to China".

+Reuters-Ipsos poll shows a slight bounce for Obama since the Convention. He leads Willard 46-44.

+Conservative e-mails to me today gloat over the "bad jobs report" but no one mentions it was the best August in 6 years. The good ADP report should show up next month. So they say Obama is doomed. But for last year job results, Obama is in the middle of the pack, which puts him in the re-electable range. If you go by the stock market, he is ahead of all modern Presidents beginning with Jimmy Carter. This usually means re-election. So flip a coin.
