+Tom Daschle was right about South Dakota. Daschle criticized Harry Reid this week for missing an opportunity in keeping a Senate seat with Weiland in South Dakota.
+This blog flagged the Weiland candidacy as one of the most imaginative this election cycle. The candidate held town hall meetings in every town in the state.
+Now PPP releases a poll today to show why Tom Daschle is right. Mike Rounds leads Weiland by 35% to 28% and Larry Pressler trails with 24% and libertarian Howe with 8%.
+The PPP poll is heavily weighted toward Republicans at +14 and even more GOP than registered voters. So what is the opening?
+Weiland has a favorable/unfavorable rating of 41-38, while Rounds is at 41/51 and sinking because of the latest scandal of him selling green cards. But the shocker is that the Pressler voter holds Rounds in total contempt at 18% favorable/68% unfavorable. The Pressler voter thinks relatively highly of Weiland.
+PPP says that their polling of Rounds just shows rapid drops which will continue through the month.
+That's why Daschle was insistent that the Democratic Senate Committee go into South Dakota large. We'll see.
