The Ohio Firewall

++Perhaps monotonous to hear President Obama give his weekly address on the auto bailout and how it saved 1 million jobs but there was method to his madness. Ohio is heavily dependent on the jobs generated by the auto industry and its suppliers.

++Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were out there today and yesterday, drawing 8,000 people at one rally, some 10,000 less than President Obama's rally the week before.

++As I've written before, President Obama has led every recent poll in the state this summer with the exception of a Gravis poll.

++With the recent fade of Obama in the polls, there was high anxiety about today's PPP poll, which showed him with a four point lead before. The results tonight are Obama 51 to Romney 46. PPP says 19% have voted early and among them Obama is leading 76 to 24.

++It was announced that Bruce Springsteen will finally campaign this year for President Obama and perform in Ohio next week along with Bill Clinton.

++Tomorrow read the New York Times piece on undecided votes in Ohio and it centers around a town I visit regularly Elyria, which is located in the poorest county of the state.

++Nate Silver still trying to get out of the Doghouse says President Obama still needs one more state than Ohio to form the firewall.
